Atari 520ST Computer

This was the final configuration of Atari's second model in it's new ST line of computers.    The introduced (but never marketed) 260ST suffered from a serious design flaw... it's 255K memory could barely hold the TOS operating system which had to be loaded into the machine from disk, let alone any practical software applications.    This 520ST has the OS in ROM and may even have been upgraded to a full 1040K status (but we haven't opened the case to check). Complete with power supply, mouse, manual and all original packing materials. Monitor not included.

Atari 520ST 20 Bombs

OK. So nothing is ever perfect.    This fine Atari 520ST really does work... sometimes.    It suffers from an early chip socket problem that can be corrected... the OS chips pop out of their sockets if the case is tweaked in a certain way.    Think of it as a built-in security system!    This model may also have been upgraded to 1040K but we swore several years ago that we were never never going to take this particular machine apart again!    Sorry... no power supply either... we did connect it to one (and a monitor) just to see the 20 colorful bombs lined up across the screen.
